Laurel County Judge Executive David Westerfield addressed those in attendance, recognizing the relentless efforts of veterans from all eras. Stabler, who has been a staple of the Fargo-Moorhead area veterans community for the past 30 years serving in honor guards and in service organizations played an integral part in helping previous Honor Flights take off, including the very first WDAY WWII Honor Flights in 2007. "I was right there cheering them on and welcoming them home. I loved it! They deserved it," Stabler said. But now, it seems the Vietnam veterans deserve it, too. This is the first time in the 15-year history of North Dakota/Western Minnesota Honor Flights that Vietnam veterans outnumber other veterans on the flights, including Korean and WWII veterans.

Kenneth Eide traveled from Grafton, North Dakota, to spend time with the handful of veterans from that community. He also wanted to stop at the Vietnam wall to do a pencil etching of his buddy Donald Barnes. "He was just a little guy, you know, short in stature, but powerful. I don't know how many men he had under him. He was on assignment. They came under attack and he got them all to safety," Eide said with tears in his eyes.

Eide said he's surprised that he felt so emotional just seeing the pencil etching of his friend's name. "But, yeah, it means a lot. It really does," he said. Three workers were killed at the scene and eight others were taken to Binh Dinh General Hospital for emergency treatment afterward. Two of those admitted to the hospital were then pronounced dead. Police officers were deployed to the scene after the labor accident happened.

The accident site has been cordoned off by the police while they are carrying out an investigation. Nhon Hoa Industrial Park covers an area of 272 hectares and hosts more than 50 local and foreign businesses, according to its website. At around 5 p.m., several people were building a Taiwan-invested seafood processing factory at the Nhon Hoa industrial complex when a 10 m high wall collapsed on them. It was raining heavily at the time, making rescue efforts difficult. Three people died on the spot. They are a 34-year-old woman and two men, 24 and 37.

Bui Van Cu, deputy chairman of An Nhon, said 10 people were buried in the wall's rubble. Those who were injured have been taken to the provincial general hospital, he said. By 11 p.m., local officials confirmed that two other men, 39 and 56, died at the hospital. The accident site has been cordoned off by the police while they carry out their investigation.
