Bandai Namco has announced that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be getting a current-gen console upgrade and new DLC expansions. More details on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game will be revealed in time, and Bandai Namco added that all previously available and upcoming DLC will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC simultaneously. The fourth DLC expansion--and the first of three new campaigns as part of Season Pass 2--will focus on Goku's father Bardock. Based on the 1990 original video animation Bardock: Father of Goku, Bardock: Alone Against Fate sees the Saiyan race against time to save planet Vegeta from being destroyed by the warlord Frieza. Bandai Namco said this DLC will be a complete reproduction of this classic story, will feature interactions with other Saiyans between missions, and will conclude with a climatic battle against Frieza.

Succession, Sarah Snook will always be known as Shiv Roy. But could you imagine her as Lisbeth Salander? It almost happened. According to Snook, she came down to the finals with Rooney Mara for David Fincher’s English-language Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Snook was a guest on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast on August 19. Discussing her career leading up to the Emmy-nominated Succession, Snook included her close call with Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Succession Season 4 is now filming. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is powering up to a new platform as the action RPG will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. In a trailer released during the Tokyo Game Show (seen below), Bandai Namco revealed that the new versions would arrive next year, along with DLC that retells the DBZ film Bardock: the Father of Goku.
Bandai Namco also confirmed that owners of the last-gen versions would get the current-gen versions free of charge. Meanwhile, The official Dragon Ball Games Twitter account released a comparison video between the upcoming PS5 version with the PS4 version, showing the next-gen version running at

Additionally, more DLC is coming to Kakarot, as a second season pass was announced. Will fans get to reenact the recent Super Heroe movie or the Goku Black saga? We’ll have to wait and see what happens. Prices have yet to be announced, though based on the previous DLC packs, it’s safe to assume that Bardock content will be priced at $10, and the season pass will set you back $30.

of art. They decided it was time to bring Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest as one given their resurgences over the last decade. And of course, Goku slips into the mash-up with ease.
The crossover plays off Dragon Quest 5 to be specific as fans will recognize this updated poster. Bardock and Goku have been slipped into the game's iconic poster and taken up the mantle of two favorite Dragon Quest heroes. Honestly, the mash-up looks so seamless that you might not have realized anything was different here, and that is all thanks to Akira Toriyama.
And why might that be? Well, Toriyama is both the creator of Dragon Ball and the main designer for the Dragon Quest franchise. This means the IPs have very similar art styles from background scenery to fight choreography and even character designs. When you look at Dragon Quest artwork, it is hard to ignore how similar it is to Dragon Ball, and that is all on Toriyama's vision. After all, the mangaka did begin work on Dragon Quest years after his style rose to fame in Dr. Slump and then Dragon Ball. So if these three IPs want to do an actual crossover soon, we're sure fans would to see what comes from it.

A Season Pass 2 will also launch next year. The first DLC included with Season PAss 2 is called Additional Scenario: -Bardock- Alone Against Fate. It features content and retells the story from the Bardock: Father of Goku TV special. Players will be able to fight Frieza in the boss encounter and interact with other Saiyans and members of the Frieza Force.
