Jason Momoa is living his best life. After shaving his head (and throwing fans of his flowing locks into a total tailspin) on Tuesday, Sept. 5, the See actor added yet another new chapter to his hair evolution. Momoa’s shaved head is now Momoa’s tattooed head. That’s right, folks. Aquaman has joined the pantheon of celebrities who’ve revealed fresh from-the-neck-up ink on social media. While Momoa’s head tattoo is less subtle than, say, Cardi B’s touching face tat tribute to her son, Wave, it still holds special meaning. Not only was Momoa’s head tattoo done in a traditional, Polynesian style, but the design it depicts is one meant to honor his heritage. On Thursday, Sept. 15th, Momoa shared photos of himself on Instagram before, during, and after receiving a tattoo that covers about a fourth of his head. The photos, taken by photographer Mainei Kinimaka, show Momoa with the artwork drawn in red on his close-cropped scalp as well as the actor undergoing Kākau, a traditional Polynesian style of tattoo art that involves hand-tapping ink into the skin. In the caption of his Instagram post, Momoa shared that receiving his head tattoo was a “powerful moment” and that he was honored to have shared it with family and friends. It appears that Momoa may have gotten the ink soon after shaving his head. On the same day he shared Kinamaka’s photos the pics are also featured in the Leica Women Foto Project, a photography series designed to highlight women’s visual... https://www.pinterest.com/pin/457467274624687225/.

Jon Malvern tattooed the image at his studio Tattoo Central in Benidorm, Spain, on 12 September. Mr Malvern, from Wallsend, Newcastle, said a client brought the drawing in for him to ink. He said: “It’s very common in this industry to have requests for tribute tattoos after a well-known person passes away. “I normally shy away from them because I don’t like to make money off other people’s misfortune,” he said. The artist has said he will use the money from the reduced-price tattoo to put flowers outside the shop and close the shop on the day of the Queen’s funeral. They had to shrink the tumour before surgery or a mastectomy could be done." "The hardest part for me was telling people close to me my children, my mother, that's what still brings big emotions for me...When I told everyone, I put a positive spin on everything. I convinced everyone it was going to be fine. But it's weird because I'm new to all of this and I didn't know how to tell people I had cancer...I was in these scenarios when I was convincing other people close to me that it will be fine. It was strange having to comfort others when I was the one with breast cancer." Kim MacDonald kept a positive attitude during her cancer treatment. (Photo via Instagram/kmacdonaldtwn) YC: When did you first decide to get a mastectomy tattoo? Why did you feel that this was right for you? KM: "My mastectomy was done in May 2017. My tattoo was in May of 2022. I was thinking about getting the tattoo for five years. A friend asked me if I was thinking of getting one, as when I look in the mirror I am seeing art rather than scars. Tattoo flash wallpaper Word tattoos require specific considerations.fpphotobank/Getty Images There are many things to consider when getting a word or number tattoo, according to tattoo artists. Since ink spreads slightly over time, make sure your design isn't too small to prevent blurring. Double-check that the date or spelling of the word you want tattooed is correct. Even though word and number tattoos may seem simple, there's plenty to consider before going under the gun. So Insider spoke with tattoo artists to learn about the common mistakes people make when getting text inked. Ink migration is inevitable, so make sure your tattoo is properly spaced Tattoo and permanent-makeup artist Lisa Doll told Insider inked words or numbers can often blur together and become illegible, so it's important to consider the size and spacing of each figure to "allow for ink migration over time." Lorenzo recalled she tattooed an 18-year-old client with his mother's name, but when he became a bodybuilder at age 32, the word was "completely out of place, blurry, and unrecognizable." Try to avoid inking areas that are prone to fading Feet tattoos may fade more quickly.Nadtochiy/Getty Images If you want your ink to stand the test of time, tattoo artist Nic El, owner of Gorilla Tattoo Paphos, told Insider that clients should "avoid areas that are prone to fading" like "palms, fingers, feet, elbows, and knees." If you're set on placement in one of these areas, El suggested making sure the font you select is bold and reasonably sized for the best results. Also consider what other tattoos you may want before deciding on your placement When determining the placement of your word, tattoo artist Cassie May said to consider your long-term body-art plans. "Placement can make or break the future of your tattoo plans," she said. "A mistake I commonly see clients make is failing to think long term." For example, she said if you think you may want a sleeve one day, don't use up precious real estate with a "wrap-around script tattoo in the middle of your forearm." She added that even one small piece "could interrupt the cohesion of your tattoos down the line," so you should decide on your eventual staple pieces before selecting a placement.
